Liverpool to make shock move for Barcelona midfielder

Liverpool could make a shock move for Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano. The Argentinian played for Liverpool for 3 years, and during his time at the club made 94 appearances for the reds. However, in 2010, Mascherano left Merseyside for sunny Spain.

Liverpool are currently in search for a new defensive midfielder after Lucas was ruled out for the rest of the season with injury. This has led to shock rumours that Mascherano will make a surprise return to the club where he was once loved.

Kenny Dalglish will attempt to bid for Mascherano this month, and will hope that £15m will be enough to tempt the 27-year-old to rejoin the club.
