World class manager linked with Chelsea job

Rafa Benitez has been linked the Chelsea job. Current boss AVB is finding it hard to make an impact at Stamford Bridge, and with Roman Abramovich not known for giving manager’s much of a chance, AVB could find himself sacked by the summer.

Benitez has past experience in the Premier League, and some would say he would be perfectly suited to Chelsea. His unique style of play would be welcomed at Stamford Bridge, and if he was to be given financial backing, he would surely be able to build a strong squad.

Chelsea have seen a lot of change in recent years, and usually it pays off. This time it hasn’t however, and although AVB should be given time, Chelsea can’t offer him that, particularly with a Champions League spot for next season a must.

At first, I believed AVB was the right man for Chelsea, and until a month ago I still did. A consistent poor run of form however, and his poor team choices have persuaded me to think that a new man needs to be brought in, and with Benitez being available, it just seems right for him to be brought in.

Benitez would relish the opportunity to manage the blues, and if an offer was to be made, I am certain he would accept.
